HELLO !!!! 

We finally started editing, Veronika wanted to try to edit and she did a very good job putting the shots together and at the same time Patrycja added the title even though we all participate giving ideas , we all gave ideas for the name of our production but we all decided to use my idea that is called ''Green pie;; the idea came out in my mind because watching at all the shots added together the green colour came in my mind and i wanted to mix it with a quite unique name which end up calling it ''green pie production'' , She added a nice font and a green light colour because goes with the mise-enscene of the shots. Coming back at Veronika's editing I think the beginning was very good done because the shots and the continuity was very good and with the right time , bur there was a shot that ,in my opinion and I think all of us realised, was too long. But all this mistakes help us to learn from them and make a better production. Dawn had the idea of using at the end the title of the film , which is ''FRIENDSHIP'' with capital letters and in the same green colour and font. I personally added the sound because i have some experience using Logic Pro , but all my colleges helped me to chose the right song that goes with the preliminary. After many sons we finally decided to use a piano song.
So we finally finished our preliminary!

FILMING 2

Hello everyone ! We finally finished our filming.

Today went very good , I enjoyed participating in the movie as an actress. 

The filming was still good, we repeat so many times the over the shoulder shot because it was not as good as we wanted, but after repeating it many times we got some shots that we liked , I still think that we should not spend that much time on our preliminary and start planning our production.

FILMING 1

Hello everyone!!

Today we started to film and , in my opinion , went very good.
I personally like the team that we make , we all have good ideas. We decided that Dawn is the perfect to film the preliminary even though we suggest many ideas and improvements as well , this time we want to finish our preliminary filming very quick because we want to start planning as soon as possible our real production. 
In my opinion the way we filmed the beginning of the preliminary was done very good , we filmed in a way that allows us when we edit to give a good impression of match on action , which is the continuity but from different shots and angles. Next step is to finish our preliminary filming and start editing.

IMPORTANT

I would like to make clear in one post what are we going to do for the filming and editing and maybe a bit of planning for our opening sequence.
We have decided to separate the filming in 2 parts because our opening is separated in two parts , as we already showed in our research , we want to pass from darkness and danger to a moment full of happiness and bright colours. The reason why as we already mention it, is to show the danger and effects of drugs and to compare it when drugs are not involved in the environment.

What I am trying to say is that in our future posts we will call ''FIRST PART OF OUR OPENING'' to the beginning which will be filmed outside and in the very morning to show the danger and effects of drugs, this scene will be harder to film so we will star filming the ''SECOND PART OF OUR OPENING'' which is the bright scene in a room which is easier to film and edit. This is how we will be referring to the different scenes. I just wanted to clarify the situation

Preliminary task

Good afternoon everyone !

This week was a busy week for us trying to get ideas for our production and at the same time we wanted to finish our preliminary task which we decided to do it with another group to see how is working with them and to get more ideas for our production from media A Level students, I think that would help us with better professional ideas.

In our preliminary we had to use 3 important things.

1st - 180 degrees rule

 It’s actually a very straight forward convention and helps you to create flowing cut sequences when shooting with a single camera, but you want to create the impression that there are more cameras shooting the scene so that the viewer sees a cut sequence that flows naturally. This means that you will have to direct the actors or contributors to repeat the action over and over again while you shoot the action from different camera positions to get enough scene coverage.

2nd- shot reverse shot

A film technique wherein one character is shown looking (often off-screen) at another character, and then the other character is shown looking "back" at the first character. Since the characters are shown facing in opposite directions, the viewer unconciously assumes that they are looking at each other.
3rd-match on action

is a cut in film editing between either two different objects, two different spaces, or two different compositions in which an object in the two shots graphically match, often helping to establish a strong continuity of action and linking the two shots metaphorically.(Used this information from wikipedia)

Preliminary task

Hello !!
Today we decided to start our preliminary task , so I have to do my own research and give my own ideas.
My idea is to use a simple girl having a conversation with some other person , i was thinking that is better to use a other girl this time , because the idea of a girl and a boy is always the same.
I was thinking to put a conversation between 2 friends. The use of sound for me is always very important to give the advance idea to the audience of what is the movie about or what is going to happen. The conversation should take place in a restaurant or some public place.

research of a movie '' The lovely bones''

Hello everybody ! , I would like to comment about the lovely bones movie , just because I particularly loved it.
The movie is about a a little girl that is violated and killed from his neighbour, She cannot go to heaven because she keeps this hate against this man in her heart , so she stays as a spirit in the world , the problem is  that she can see everyone from there, her family suffering , her killer , and she tries somehow to communicate with her family to let them know what happened. The editing done was amazing , I could of feel her feelings and incapability.
This is a scene where the neighbour after deceiving her lets her know that he is going to kill her.

I like the way the filming was done , the angels shows who has the power by using lower angle and high angle.

analise 2 minutes introductions of drama movies

In our first meeting we decided the best choice for the 2 minutes introduction would be a drama movie so I researched some of the best dramas movies to make an idea of what I would like our introduction to be like.

I decided to analise different types of drama movies to have a better idea of what shots , edits , sound and mice on scene would be good for our 2 minutes drama introduction.

·         The first movie that I wanted to research on the drama genre was the basketball diaries

Analysing:

The movie starts with the credits and at the background the sound following the credits is very dramatic, like a funeral song. Snidely the credit cuts into a fuzzy image of the character that quickly becomes normal. A mid shot introduces the audience with the character that is sleeping  , looking at the mice en scene of the old and poor look of the room and bed and the diegetic sound of a woman screaming and waking up the character in a bad mood but at the same time seems something that he has got use to and the mother of the character screaming at him gives an idea to the audience of the character’s low income and his dramatic life that is not full of happiness. The quick cut into the title of the movie and quickly change into another scene where the camera moves following a way that introduces the audience into a school , the idea of his voice at the background talking about himself is a good idea to introduce the audience deeply into his personality and problems , what is going to happened to the character and why should the audience still watching the movie.

This is a drama movie based on real facts , the movie shows us the difficulties that the protagonist had in his life.

·         The second movie that I researched and that I think is very nice to comment in , is a requiem for a dream , a drugs drama movie very addictive.

Analysing:

The movie starts with a establishing long shot of a place, hot place, seems aton be a local street where we can see old people sitting outside and young/ teenagers playing around,the wheather indicates summer which it also indicates a better mood. The song is a dramatic one with a bit of excitement. This gives to the audience the dramatic and excitement to carry on watching the movie. The camera shots cutting into a black screen with credits changes the place of the camera by following two young men carrying a T.V, the camera is situated in front of them so while they walking the camera movie forwards showing their facial expressions that seem to be a bit worried , the song produces more excitement while the time is passing to the audience , produces tension as well. The credits cuts the place of filming again following the characters but from a different position now not following them just putting the camera in a place where the audience can see the two characters moving from the back, this is a good way of filming to follow the characters using different camera shots and the same song to produce more excitement. The song becomes even more dramatic and addictive, is very good to have a good song for the identification of the movie.

This is a adiccion drama which is about drugs and how does it affect the life of different persons. Very dramatical movie , I like the way of producing the movie in a very smart way to show to the audience how bad the drugs can affect your life. The sound of this movie is unique and In my opinion was very smart to use a dramatical song that attaches the audience with the feelings of the movie . I will defiantly use some of this ideas.

The third movie that I really want to analyse is Big fish , which is one of my favourite movies , even if is more about adventures this movie has a drama side as well , combines drama and adventures is a very good way , connects with the audience in a way of making them curios , happy and sad. To be honest I cried at the end of this movie and this movie had a very big impact on my way of thinking about life, this production is defiantly unique.

Analysing:

The opening starts with a mid-establishing shot introducing the audience under the water where the camera moves deeper showing a group of fishes that quickly run away, the mid shot, that makes the audience feel like they are there, shows a big fish coming and follows it. The song is an adventure/emotive with a heartbeat, the camera shot with the song makes the audience feel the adventure already but with the voice of a man talking at the background while following the big fish introduces the audience to the story of it. The camera uses moves close to the big fish to show to the audience how big and powerful the big is. While this filming the credits are appearing. The camera follows the story of the voice at the background. The edit of the slow cut from a place to another was done changing the colour to darker and after lighter introducing the audience in another place which analysing the mice en scene of the wall and a draw stick on it seems that the place is in a child’s room. The camera moves around the room showing a child in a bed with an old man following the story of the voice at the background which may make the audience connect with the movie from the very beginning.

  In my fisrt meeting with my colleague Veronica Pavlova and me decided to become a group called 'Unique productions' in our year of Media studies.
We also decided that the best option is to make a drama 2 minutes introduction so my next step is to research 3 introductions of drama movies and try to get some ideas of what would be the best for our production to succeed.
